Kirkcolm is a village located at the northern tip of the Rhins of Galloway in the district of Wigtownshire, part of Dumfries and Galloway in South West Scotland. The village is approximately 7 miles north of Stranraer.
The nearby coastline and in particular at Corsewall Lighthouse, an 'A' listed building of major national importance, offer some of the finest scenery in the region with views to the Kintyre Peninsula, Arran, the Firth of Clyde, Ailsa Craig and the coast of Ireland. The lighthouse was built in 1815 for the Commissioners of Northern Lighthouses by Robert Stevenson, engineer father of Robert Louis Stevenson.
